Fiction Fridays: Handy Dad

Happy Father’s Day weekend to all! In honor of Father’s Day, I’m featuring one of the coolest Dad books I know – Handy Dad: 25 Awesome Projects for Dads and Kids. Forget all the books that teach you how to be a good Dad. This one shows you! Dad’s don’t need a lecture on spending time with their kids…they need ideas on what to do with them.

This book includes detailed instructions on 25 projects for Dad’s (or anyone else brave enough) to do with their kids. The projects range from easy (tie dye shirts) to difficult (tree houses and go carts). I think this book is awesome for any dad that is ready to get hands on with their kids but doesn’t quite know where to start. Kids can’t help out with some of the larger projects until they’re a bit older (five or so), but every kid will appreciate Dad’s hard work. Each project also starts out with an extensive supplies list, so you’re sure not to miss a beat!

Luckily I was raised by a father who didn’t need instructions on how to build the coolest things (that’s what you get when your dad’s a mason :)), but lots of kids are not quite as fortunate. So pick up this how to guide for yourself or a loved one and let the fun begin!
